Hidden Valley Ranch
Hidden Valley Ranch, a closed minimum security prison, is at the top of Log Cabin Ranch Road in La Honda. The four building compound would require some renovation, but could be re-purposed to house student and serve as an instructional facility.

Camp Pomponio (San Mateo Sheriff's Honor Camp)
Camp Pomponio has some fame since it once housed Ken Kesey, author of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest." Located at the top of Gazos Creek Road, the Field Research Station has had several identities, but currently is supported by the Pescadero Conservation Alliance as a base for environmental education.

Parks include, Butano State Park, Año Nuevo State Park, Pescadero, Pomponio, San Gregorio State Beaches, Pescadero Marsh, and San Mateo County's Memorial Park.
