The Open Space Academy seeks to synthesize the vision, mission, and purpose statements from our school district and local land conservation organizations in order to create a unique educational program for our students. The LHPUSD needs to recruit and retain students, and MROSD and POST need to monitor and maintain the land under their protection. There is a synergy in fusing these purposes that will allow students to learn and potentially develop careers related to environmental land management, at the same time the open spaces can be sustained economically through student service learning projects.
